Breighton Smith, Clerk of Courts Biography

Breighton Smith is honored to have the privilege of serving you during his first term as your Warren County Clerk of Courts. The American-born son of two Jamaican immigrants and a lifelong resident of Southwestern Ohio, he is a promoter of individual liberty, a Constitutional Originalist, and a believer in the United States Justice System. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Dayton and a Juris Doctorate from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University where he graduated on the Dean’s List.

Breighton has extensive private sector experience having previously worked for over a decade as manager and IT consultant of his family’s law firm located in Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as his family’s residential remodeling company. He is also the co-founder of a photography and visual arts company and serves as a Board Member on the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce.

He also has public service and political experience having previously served as a City Council Member in the City of Lebanon, Ohio, were he was first unanimously appointed by City Council to fill the vacancy of an unexpired term, and later was elected by the voters to hold that seat. He was also the former Warren County Field Coordinator for the Ohio Republican Party and then-candidate Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, and a former Chairman of the Warren County Republican Party.

Breighton enjoys various interests, including photography, firearms, working on cars, and enjoying the wonder of God’s Creation. Breighton lives in Lebanon, Ohio with his wife Stephanie.
